The Watercolor Society of Indiana and the Brown County Art Gallery invite you to exhibit in this watercolor show. You do not have to be a current member of The Watercolor Society of Indiana to participate. However, all participants must be 18 and older and a current resident of Indiana. This is considered a "Regional Exhibit", the Annual Exhibit is in June/July.
The cost is $10 per person. All participants, whether a member or not, must register through The Watercolor Society of Indiana. You may display one ready to hang painting. Registration is open to the first 80 artists that register. Register Online now or download/print the Prospectus to mail entry with payment to the WSI Office.
Delivery Dates
Deliver your painting directly to the Brown County Art Gallery between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm either Fri., Feb. 2 or Sat., Feb. 3, 2024. Please bring a signed consignment form: Download and print a copy here.
Art Requirements
All paintings must be ready to hang, dust & smudge free, non-political, and in stable condition. Gallery wrapped canvas with wire acceptable. No sawtooth hangers. No size limitations. Paintings must be of watercolors and/or water mediums.
Sales
Brown County Art Gallery will handle all sales and sales tax. The artist receives 75%. Please price your painting accordingly. For example, if you would like to receive $250 in commission, make the selling price $333. This venue requested that all paintings be for sale.
Formula: $Amount to artist ÷ .75 = $Selling Price
Art Images
Please submit an image of your painting if possible. This is not required but will be used on the WSI Website and social media to promote artists, paintings and the exhibit.
Risk
The Watercolor Society of Indiana and the Brown County Art Gallery will exercise diligent and reasonable care, but neither WSI nor Brown County Art Gallery shall be responsible for loss or damage to any painting. By participating in the show, the artist assumes all risk and agrees to the rules and conditions of this prospectus. We recommend getting insurance on your painting if you have concerns.
Opening Reception
Saturday, Sat. Feb. 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Everyone is encouraged to attend the free Opening Reception at the Brown County Art Gallery. Light refreshments. Open to the public.
Visiting the Show – Gallery Hours
Monday – Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Sundays Noon to 5:00 pm. Weather permitting. Free admission.
Pick Up Dates
If your painting is sold the buyer has permission to pick it up. Otherwise, please pick up your painting between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm on either Fri., Mar. 29 or Sat., Mar. 30, 2024. A photo ID is required.
Unclaimed Paintings
You will be charged $45 if your painting is not picked up at the end of the exhibit. WSI will do its best to offer volunteer help, but you must confirm with WSI if you need assistance. Unclaimed paintings will become WSI property 60 days following the closing of the show.
