WSI Receives Education Grant
from The James C. Lentz Scholarship Fund
WSI is very fortunate to have received a $38,000 grant from the James C. Lentz Scholarship Fund for the purpose of providing each year an annual scholarship to a graduating high school senior who will be majoring in fine arts or art education at his/her chosen university. This grant allows us to fulfill one of the missions of the Watercolor Society of Indiana. Article II in our Constitution states the following as one of our missions: “…to encourage the study of watercolor by art students and others engaged in the visual arts.” In keeping with our mission, the Watercolor Society of Indiana has made a commitment to offer a $1000 scholarship to a high school senior who intends to pursue a degree in fine arts or art education. The Watercolor Society has long been committed to furthering the goal of providing art education to the community, especially since WSI has nearly one hundred members who teach art either in a school system or in a private setting.
